Sweet 16 Party

Two requests. Create something out of a movie and blue butterflies. Give us six weeks and we will do just that. See how we transformed an event space into an enchanted butterfly forest for a magical evening.

enchanted butterfly forest

When this client came to us she wanted something “out of a movie” for her daughter’s Sweet 16. The only design direction that was given was blue butterflies and to do whatever we need to make it enchanting and perfect. Our team had six weeks to bring this vision to life along with our wonderful group of vendors and design team at Tantawan Bloom. Our inspiration was an enchanted butterfly garden covered head to toe in blue, white, and purple floral arrangements and mirrored accents. This was unlike any other event we have ever done and no one could even believe how much we had transformed the space!

Trucks filled with flowers took over the whole room the morning of the event and before you knew it, those individual flowers became a beautiful masterpiece. We finalized and assembled the entire design and production team just 1 week before the event day so we were in for some work.

A custom-designed vinyl wrap covered in blue butterflies became our dance floor creating the focal point of the room while four giant floor-to-ceiling wisteria trees with a beautiful canopy of flowers and hanging butterflies on each corner made guests feel as if they were dancing in a fantasy world.

Invitations

We executed the theme right down to the stationery. We called our friends at Fancy That to see if they could do butterfly invitations in a week and boy did they deliver! A mirrored acrylic butterfly was the perfect way to invite the guests to a magical evening.

When guests arrived they were greeted by a giant tree with hanging flowers, candles, and of course butterflies where they could find their butterfly escort card that laid upon a grass centerpiece as it would in a real life butterfly garden. The delicate blue emperor matched with leaf seating cards as if the butterfly was landing on its leaf in the garden.

The Grand Entrance

It was time for our birthday girl’s big debut! All eyes were on Kelly as she walked into the room through a floral display of butterfly wings on two wooden doors that slide open to present the Queen Butterfly. Thousands of butterfly’s flew across behind the queen via video mapping provided by Geo Events which played across the screen as she made her grand entrance along the pebble pathway to the dance floor. She met her partner for her first dance with the court. Little did the guests know that the court had their tango moves ready to “Bust your Windows” for their next dance.

Favors

Custom-designed Nike air force ones were ready for each of the court members to slip on for their final hip hop number, but the court wasn’t the only ones with street art shoes! A Nike Air Force one bar was available as guest favors. Guests could customize their shoes with airbrush art courtesy of the talented artists at Allen Dalton Entertainment Group. When the guests got tired from their heels, they slipped on their Air Force Ones and kept the dancing going all night.

Cake

The cake designed by City Sweets perched on top of the cake swing covered in moss and flowers, and of course more butterflies. A 3-tiered white red velvet cake decorated in fresh flowers and white butterflies. We rolled the swing cake out to the birthday girl when it was time to sing along with an ice cream bar and chocolate fountain. To say this was every kid’s dream birthday party was an understatement.

There was magic in the air that night and we can’t wait to create more magical events for our clients.

A HUGE THANK YOU to our vendor team who made this magical birthday possible!
