Every year we plan holiday engagements and New Year’s Eve proposals, but this time, I wanted to suggest something different. So last weekend, I walked around New York City to find the best holiday proposal locations in NYC with the BEST lighting. I took pictures and videos everywhere in order to recommend the right places for my clients.
Lighting is so important, especially if you plan on bringing a private photographer or videographer to capture your proposal. Even what you wear can have a huge impact on your photos. I chose to wear something sparkly, as this looked great in photos and videos.

Top 5 Holiday Proposal Locations in New York City
Lotte New York Palace
Want to find somewhere special that has a little more privacy than Rockefeller Center? The Lotte New York Palace hotel is right around the corner from the Saks 5th Avenue light show and a perfect area to propose to your loved one!
Saks 5th Avenue
The Saks 5th Avenue light show this year is spectacular! And a GREAT spot to pop the question! Wait until the finale, when the famous Love, Actually song comes on, and I promise you’ll make their heart melt.
Rainbow Room
Head on over to the Top of the Rock at the Observation Deck - one of the best views in New York City - to make this a super intimate proposal. You can propose right outside, under the famous overhang at NBC Studios, or pay to go to the top, where you can have a champagne toast!
Radio City Music Hall
A New York City icon, this location is right across the street from a row of beautiful, well-lit golden trees. It’s magical. The area gives off a beautiful holiday glow in all your photos and is so so dreamy!
